Corey’s life has been one defined by major moments. Throughout his journey, he has stretched himself in new and exciting ways with the help of Lake Trust’s DeWitt branch; from financing his wife’s engagement ring to starting his own business, it’s been about family, community, and possibilities.

Corey’s relationship with Lake Trust began when he was just 18 years old, and we’ve been fortunate to be a major part of his life milestones ever since.

 

For example, when he was 22, he was excited to propose to his (now) wife. He wanted to purchase a ring she could proudly wear for a lifetime. However, as just a young college student, he struggled to find any ring within his budget, much less one that matched his criteria. After reaching out to several banks, he learned he wasn’t a strong candidate for traditional financing. It was only when he reached out to Lake Trust Credit Union that he found the support and solution he needed.

Corey was able to meet with a Branch Manager at Lake Trust who was able to design a loan that would work for him based on non-traditional collateral and creative refinancing. He left the meeting feeling amazed and grateful for the personalized attention he received.

 

This positive experience led Corey to turn to Lake Trust for subsequent financial needs as well. When he and his wife were ready to purchase a house, they looked to Lake Trust for a mortgage. And when Corey decided to start his own businesses, Lake Trust was there to provide the necessary financial support.

With a little support from Lake Trust, Corey and his wife became proud owners of a Biggby coffee franchise. But that’s just the beginning. Recently, Corey has opened his own design firm. With all of his success, Corey is most proud of his family. Corey believes that financial comfort brings security and possibility to his wife and kids, allowing them all more flexibility and opportunities to pursue their passions and their paths.

Corey’s story is a testament to the power of family, community, and long-term professional relationships. With a little help from Lake Trust and a ton of hard work from Corey, he was able to to turn hopes into realities and ideas into actions. His journey serves as an inspiration to others who may be facing similar challenges, showing that with the right support (and the right financial partner), anything is possible.
